Differences from Rags
- Player is a character. This means that string replacements and actions that
operate on characters can operate on the player, provided you figure out the
player's name (it will be
player
, unless there's already a character with that name). For compatibility with Rags, loops and selections that operate on characters automatically skip the current player character. - Room groups form a hierarchy, they can have parents.
- Media was renamed to File internally (media doesn't have a proper plural form and it fucks up my mind, sorry).
- Consistency: Items and Objects are used inconsistently in Rags, they are always Objects in scraps. Similarly, Portrait, Picture => Image.
- Unicode support: currently nothing. This means case insensitive string matching and item ordering will be wrong.
- DateTime: format specifier
U
is not supported. - DateTime: on Windows, dates before 1970 doesn't work. And generally, there's too much platform specific code there, so there might be other problems on non Linux systems.
- String replacement: scraps doesn't crash in many cases when rags do. Instead, it prints an error message to the console and continues with some dummy values.
- String replacement: scraps have an (arbitrary) iteration limit to prevent hanging with infinite replacements. TODO: make it user configurable.
- Variables: string arrays can contain
